Saffron - Spanish

Saffron - Spanish

from 7.00

Saffron is the world' most valuable spice, also the most expensive. The threads come from the flower, saffron crocus, and must be hand-harvested, which plays into it's high value. It takes roughly 150 flowers to obtain 1 gram of saffron stigmas.

Our saffron is top of the line coupe 1 quality, harvested from the Castilla-La Mancha region of Spain.

It may not look like a lot, but 1 gram of saffron can go a LONG way! You only need a few threads to add depth of flavor to your dishes.

Suggested use: A general rule of thumb - for every teaspoon of saffron you use, steep in 3 teaspoons of water or broth before adding to your favorite recipes. Steeping the stigmas will release it's flavorful oils and familiar yellow hue.

Try in rice, stews, sauces, and seafood dishes.
