Blackened Sea Scallops

INGREDIENTS

  • 12oz large sea scallops (about 9-12 each)

  • 2 Tbsp butter

  • 1 Tbsp Once You Go Black…blackening seasoning

  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice

 

PREPARATION

1) Pat scallops dry with a paper towel. Coat all sides with Once You Go Black seasoning. Set aside.

2) Heat large skillet to med-hi. Melt 1 Tbsp butter, smearing across entire pan. Place scallops in pan about 1/2 inch apart. Cook for 2 mins.

3) Flip scallops when nicely browned and cook for another 2 mins. Add 1 Tbsp butter to pan. Add lemon juice. Baste scallops in pan with melted butter for 1-2 mins. Turn off heat.

4) Place scallops on plate and serve with your favorite side dish (green beans and quinoa served with this recipe). Enjoy!
